Gianluca Marciano praises professionalism of young Armenian musicians
On March 19, at St. Joseph Church, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia presented its first concert within the framework of Al Bustan International Festival, the press service of the Orchestra reports.
The concert, which had a great success, was conducted by Gianluca Marciano. Jointly with the soloists Yasko Fujii (soprano), Clare Presland (mezzo-soprano), Irakli Murjikneli (tenor), Sašä Čano (bass) the Youth Orchestra performed Symphony No.9 by Ludwig van Beethoven. During the evening, the choirs of Lebanon Conservatory and universities of Notre Dame and Antonin also performed on the same stage.
Maestro Marciano, who has worked with such world-renowned orchestras as the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, praised the professionalism of the young musicians and thanked them for the enjoyable collaboration.
As it was mentioned before, within the framework of the festival, SYOA is going to present another three concerts. On March 21, at Emile Bustani Auditorium the audience will enjoy “The Wild Dove” by Antonin Dvorak, Cello Concerto by Robert Schumann (Soloist: Antonio Meneses (cello) and “Swan Lake” suite by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The concert will be conducted by Sergey Smbatyan, the artistic director and principal conductor of the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia.
The State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA) has been invited to have four concerts in Beirut as the official orchestra of the 20th Al Bustan International Festival. The concert program includes a selection of the best classical pieces to be jointly performed with world-known musicians.
The trip to Lebanon is becoming a reality thanks to the support of VivaCell-MTS, the general partner of the Orchestra.
