The election of a candidate for the post of director of Al. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet is kept secret, Hraparak writes. 

As regards candidates for that post, six names are known: Arthur Shahnazaryan, Gagik Manasyan, Arman Tsaturyan, Barsegh Tumanyan, Tigran Davtyan and Yervand Yerkanyan.

The newspaper has learnt that a signature campaign is underway to invite opera singer Gegham Grigoryan to take up the position of Opera Theater’s Art Director. Grigoryan told the newspaper that he is not aware of the signature campaign.

Citing sources, the newspaper writes that Armen Smbatyan is one of three candidates whose names are kept secret. He has recently quit the position of director of CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and intends to take an active part in the fate of the Opera Theater.
