Aram I suggests UN to discuss demilitarization of Kessab
On March 27, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, called Jeffrey Feltman, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, the Armenian Church Catholicosate of Cilicia reports.
Jeffrey Feltman told His Holiness Aram I that the UN is concerned about the situation in Kessab, adding that he discussed the issue with United Nations-Arab League Special Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi and with Armenia’s and Turkey’s Ambassadors to UN.
His Holiness presented the current situation in Kessab, stressing the role of Turkish factor. Aram I proposed that the UN should discuss the demilitarization of Kessab. Jeffrey Feltman promised to consult with Lakhdar Brahimi on that issue.
