Expert: Armenia has always tried to take into account all partners’ interests
Unlike some of its partners, during more than twenty years, Armenia has maintained an exact position, trying to take into account interests of all its partners and foreign actors, political scientist Sergey Minasyan said at Yerevan-Moscow-Tbilisi-Chisinau space bridge entitled “Eurasian Choice.”
“Armenia has tried to take into account their interests, not to play on their disagreements. Therefore, Armenia is one of the few countries which has a total control of its entire territory, despite the fact that it has no serious natural or any other resources. In such conditions, we manage to ensure a certain acceptable level of socioeconomic development. At the same time, Armenia has been on good terms with all superpowers,” Minasyan said.
According to the expert, with Russia being Armenia’s main strategic partner, “Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union and willingness to become one of the founders of the Eurasian Union is absolutely logical and builds upon the priorities of security and economic development.”
