‘‘Haqqin.az’’: Despite replacement of Secretary of Defense Ministry crossbows and stabbing continue in Azerbaijani Armed Forces
"Incidents in the Azerbaijani army do not stop. Today, following the report on crossbow new information was received about a stabbed soldier," Azerbaijani news portal "Haqqin.az" writes noting that, according to the "APA" agency the information about the stabbing was recorded in one of the military units of the Defence Ministry.
It is reported that soldier Samad Akberli stabbed Kyanan Mamedzade, his colleague, as a result of a conflict. Kyanan Mamedzade was taken to hospital. This fact was confirmed by the Defense Ministry. Criminal case is sewed in this connection; the investigation is conducted by the Military Prosecutor's Office.
Previously it was reported about a crossbow taken place in another military unit of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan. Soldier Rakhid Askerov injured himself from a standard-issue gun.
According to the portal, since the beginning of the year the number of "inadvertent" crossbow cases in the Azerbaijani army passed 20. "More than 10 soldiers committed suicide. In the same time soldiers use standard-issue guns, ropes and even rat poison ..." the article reads.
The publication reads that the standard answers of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry on continuing crossbows in the army is not enough for giving an explanation on the real reasons for non-combat losses. Such cases occur mainly as a result of hazing, arbitrariness, corruption and a weak military discipline.
"Apparently, abiev-like traditions in the Azerbaijani army still continue, and the efforts of the current Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov aimed at changing the situation, do not give results," concludes "Haqqin.az."
