Arzumanyan: PM had to be sacrificed at some moment
Hovik Abrahamyan’s appointment as Armenia’s Prime Minister was not a surprise because he was repeatedly mentioned as a likely candidate for PM following the resignation of former PM Tigran Sargsyan, MP Alexander Arzumanyan told reporters.
Arzumanyan said that the problem lies in change of the system rather than the personality of the Prime Minister and assessments can be made only after the new government submits its program.
In his words, Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation is not connected with the activities of the non-coalition forces as “it was obvious that the Prime Minister was to be sacrificed at some moment because the country made no progress in any area over the past six years.”
