“Despite the optimism of the Iranian officials Azerbaijan is not intended to cancel the visa regime with Iran,” Salahaddin Akbar, Azerbaijani expert, told “Arannews.ir.”

Note that according to the “IRNA” Iranian news agency Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov had announced recently that a special working group was formed aimed to work over the cancellation of the visa regime with Iran. Deputy of the FM of Iran Ibrahim Rahimpur had stated yesterday that the issue of visa regime cancellation had been discussed between Iranian and Azerbaijani officials at a meeting.

The Azerbaijani expert has touched upon the above-mentioned problem and has noted in particular, “Despite the optimism of the Iranian officials Azerbaijan will not cancel the visa regime with Iran. The war between Armenia and Azerbaijan is still on, besides that there are a lot of problems in Tehran – Baku relations, so, I am sure that the visa regime will not be canceled regarding these problems.”
