Serzh Sargsyan offers condolences on Konstantin Orbelian’s death
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has issued a condolence letter on the death of People’s Artist of the USSR, great Armenian composer Konstantin Orbelian, the presidential press service reported.
“Maestro Orbelian has made a great contribution to the development and popularization of contemporary Armenian music. For 36 years, he headed the Armenian State Variety Orchestra, giving a new quality and energy to the choir. His songs have always been loved by the audience and truly became the property of the nation.
“Konstantin Orbelian’s creations will always remain in the history of Armenian music and in the memory of the generations. I offer my deep condolences and share your grief.”
