Zhoghovurd: French President to attend opening of Carrefour hypermarket in Yerevan
On May 12, French President Francois Hollande will attend the opening of a Carrefour hypermarket in Yerevan, Zhoghovurd writes.
“Businessmen are worried about this, with some saying that local products will not survive due to Carrefour which itself imports its products and sells them for low prices,” the newspaper says.
According to head of the Center for Small and Medium Business Development NGO Knarik Malkhasyan, proper structures should, first of all, restrict activities of big supermarkets, regardless of whether they are local or foreign. Carrefour may bring a high competition to Armenian market, she added.
