Hollande accepts invitation to participate in Armenian Genocide centenary events in Yerevan
France will participate at the highest level in events marking the centenary of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan, French President Francois Hollande told a joint press conference with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan.
“It is our word of solidarity to the nation which has endured so much pain. At the same time, it is a word addressed to the world so that such terrible massacres, slaughters and genocides will not be repeated,” the French President said.
Armenia’s President conveyed his gratitude to France not only for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, but also for its commitment to fight – by means of legal mechanisms – against the Genocide denial.
