Missak Manouchian Park opens in Yerevan
Today the Presidents of Armenia and France participated in the opening of a park in Yerevan named after National Hero of France, Armenian poet Missak Manouchian.
French President Francois Hollande noted that Missak Manouchian survived the Armenian Genocide and went to France where he took up arms and fought for that country.
“He never forgot his homeland. We will never forget the role of Armenians in the Resistance Movement in France. There is a monument to Missak Manouchian in Paris,” the French leader said.
The two Presidents thanked the organizers of the event and Yerevan residents for attending the ceremony and paying tribute to Missak Manouchian.
