Sociologist: 63 percent of men, 58 percent of women are married in Armenia
The most important social institution of our nation, family, is facing serious challenges, head of Sociometer Research Center, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan told reporters in Yerevan.
“The number of divorces, lonely mothers and fatherless children has increased, which is a serious blow to family,” the expert stressed.
According to sociological data for Armenia, of 1,250,000 women, half are married, while another half are divorced, widowed and those who never married. 750,000 women are married, 50,000 are divorced, 182,000 are widowed, while 320,000 women have never been married. 63 percent of men and 58 percent of women are married in Armenia.
