Polish Ambassador: Aims of Armenia and EU must be specified
Prior to the launch of Eastern Partnership, Poland announced its willingness to create a possibility for European Union neighbor countries to closely cooperate with the EU and therefore the aims of Armenia and the European Union must be specified, Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzisław Raczyński told reporters on Friday.
According to him, it is necessary to clarify whether Armenia and the EU need a document or its content and association. Mr Raczyński pointed to the statements of Armenian authorities that they are ready to cooperate with the European Union in the areas which do not contradict the provisions of Armenia’s membership to the Customs Union.
“We also support this position. But the problem is that Armenia is not a Customs Union member so it currently cannot specify the areas of cooperation and the points which are acceptable to the Armenian side,” the envoy stressed.
