OSCE Mission monitors Line of Contact
On May 19, in accordance with the agreement reached with the authorities of the Nagorno- Karabakh Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in the Martakert-Tartar road section, with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, the NKR Foreign Ministry press service said.
The monitoring was led by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and Hristo Hristov (Bulgaria).
From the opposite side of the line of contact, the monitoring was conducted by Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Irzhi Aberle (Czech Republic) and staff member of the Office Peter Svedberg.
During the monitoring, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office crossed the Line of Contact from the NKR side into Azerbaijan’s territory.
From the Karabakh side, the monitoring mission was accompanied by representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
