Vernissage shooter surrenders to police
The gunman who opened fire in Vernissage area in Yerevan on Saturday, May 17, has surrendered to police, the police press service told Panorama.am.
He was arrested. An investigation is underway.
Gor Arakelyan, 29, is the son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia MP Karo Karapetyan. He entered into a brawl with young men in the area of Vernissage open-air market and opened fire, wounding five passers-by.
They were taken to clinical hospital No 1, where they underwent surgery. Their condition is stable, a representative of the hospital told Panorama.am.
