Warlick’s statements further complicated Karabakh settlement – expert
The statements of U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick further complicated the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement process and now the situation is more complex than after the Kazan meeting of the Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia, political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told a press conference in Yerevan.
“The different approaches of the Co-Chairs are due to the confrontation between the West and Russia over Ukraine,” the expert said, adding that the United States wants deployment of peacekeeping forces in the region and in Karabakh and Warlick’s statement aimed to accelerate this process.
“Taking into account their own interests, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair states will exert various kinds of pressure on the parties of the Karabakh conflict,” Melik-Shahnazaryan concluded.
