Opposition should have some supervisory powers, David Harutyunyan says
The opposition should have some supervisory powers, but I cannot say that it has no such powers at present, Minister-Chief of Government Staff David Harutyunyan told a briefing in parliament.
“The matter concerns the limits. These powers must be expanded, but the limits of their expansion must be discussed separately. This topic has already been discussed,” Harutyunyan said.
As regards supervisory levers of the opposition in specific structures, in particular in the Control Chamber, Mr Harutyunyan stressed that nothing can be ruled out theoretically, but whether or not they are prepared for it at the current stage must still be discussed.
“In this case, we must study experience of other countries, primarily those countries which have the same level of establishment of parties as we have, and we must act based on that logic,” he concluded.
