EU Ambassador hands over certificates of the second EU in Armenia Club event
The Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Traian Hristea handed over the certificates to the participants of the first ever training course of the EU in Armenia Club on Wednesday, 4 June 2014 at the EU Centre.
Ambassador Hristea expressed satisfaction that there is already second group of people who have become the Fellows of the EU in Armenia Club. “The alumni of the club are enlarging and I am very happy for that,” the Ambassador said. “By bringing together people from different walks of life and encouraging free exchange of thoughts on the EU and Armenia relations and cooperation we hope to build more support to the EU and its activities in Armenia,” Traian Hristea added.
The “EU in Armenia Club” was established to encourage the development of influential and knowledgeable alumni. The club's activities will include engaging training and useful networking events for senior officials and distinguished representatives of the Armenian society. The aim of the training courses is to spread reliable information about EU-Armenia relations and cooperation.
The participants were senior officials from the Armenian government, Members of Parliament, leading journalists, representatives of civil society organisations, academic, business and religious circles, youth organisations and students.
The EU Centre is the main feature of the EU funded project “Support to the EU communication on reforms in Armenia”. Its goal is to raise awareness on EU development cooperation in Armenia and support education on the European Union. The Centre’s website is a gateway to EU cooperation with Armenia. The duration of the project is two years and it is implemented by GOPA-Cartermill S.A in consortium with Altair Asesores and Fainberg LLC.
