Expert: Russia against resumption of hostilities in Karabakh
By supplying arms to Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russia tries to make them maximum dependent on Moscow, political scientist Sergey Minasyan told reporters Thursday.
“Russia is against resumption of hostilities in Karabakh since in that case Moscow will have to choose between its economic and energy partner, Azerbaijan, and its allied country, Armenia,” the expert said, adding that Russia has security commitments towards Armenia.
In Minasyan’s opinion, hostilities are unlikely to break out, although the ceasefire violations will continue.
