Drug prices to drop by 30 percent in Armenia
A system of parallel import of drugs will be introduced in Armenia, which will lead to a 20-30 percent decrease in drug prices, advisor to Armenian Health Minister Ghukas Ulikhanyan said at a discussion titled “Drug Turnover Reforms.” He said that a similar system operates in Europe and Georgia and as a result of it, drug prices are lower by 50 percent there.
According to Ulikhanyan, the government must develop a national concept of drug policy to carry out the instructions President Serzh Sargsyan gave during his visit to the Health Ministry in March 2014.
The Health Ministry representative stressed that the decrease in drug prices will not affect the quality of drugs.
