65,000 registered job seekers in Armenia as of June 1
There were 64,900 registered job seekers in Armenia as of June 1. This marks a 6.5 percent decrease as compared to last year, Artak Mangasaryan, head of the State Employment Agency of the Labor Ministry, told reporters Tuesday, adding that 46,600 women and 15,800 men are looking for a job.
4,277 people found job as of June 1, with 2,572 of them being females, the official said.
4,355 individuals are eligible for unemployment benefit. 3,012 of them are women and 734 are men, Mangasaryan said.
There were 2,148 vacancies as of June 1.
In Mangasaryan’s words, the most demanded professions are doctor, nurse, teacher, mostly in the provinces, as well as computer operator, architect, economist, IT specialist, designer, accountant, electrician, driver and hairdresser.
