Anne Brasseur: PACE ready to assist in Karabakh settlement within OSCE MG framework
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech at the summer plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Tuesday, as part of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers, a Panorama.am correspondent reports from Strasbourg.
PACE President Anne Brasseur said in her remarks that there are no female members in Azerbaijan’s delegation and voiced hope that she will see women in the delegation next time.
Regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the PACE President said that the diplomatic efforts should continue, adding that the PACE is ready to assist in this process within the OSCE Minsk Group framework.
At the same time, she voiced readiness to work with Armenian and Azerbaijani parliamentarians at the PACE to boost dialogue and establish an atmosphere of confidence, which, according to Mrs Brasseur, is essential for progress.
