Armen Avetisyan awarded medal posthumously
On June 25, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree awarding posthumously medal “For Service in Battle” to Armen Avetisyan, NKR Defense Army N division's machine gunner of the 1st rifle section of the first rifle platoon of the 3rd rifle company, for bravery shown during the defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic state borders, the press service of the Artsakh Republic President reported.
On June 24, around 10:50 pm, soldier Armen Avetisyan, 19, died in a frontline position of a military unit in the eastern direction of Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact. He was fatally wounded by Azerbaijani fire. An investigation is underway.
