Japan to open embassy in Yerevan in 2015
The Japanese government is carrying out preparatory work to open an embassy in Armenia in January 2015, representative of Japan's Embassy in Armenia Takashi Kurai said at the unveiling ceremony of Hiroshima Peace Stone in Yerevan.
He voiced hope that the opening of the embassy will contribute to further expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Japan in political, economic, cultural and other areas.
Varuzhan Nersisyan, aide to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, said for his part that the opening of Armenian diplomatic mission in Tokyo and the appointment of Armenian ambassador to Japan gave a new impetus to the strengthening of the ties between Armenia and Japan.
“We are happy that Japanese embassy will open in Yerevan in 2015. It will have a positive impact on the intensification of contacts between the two countries and peoples,” Mr Nersisyan said.
