Principle ‘one profession for life’ outdated – Minister
Constant development of an individual is important in the modern changing world: the principle “one profession for life” is outdated and measures are being taken to introduce a system of career guidance, Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan said at the conference entitled “Problems of Career Guidance and Prospects of Development.”
Mr Asatryan noted that the necessity of career guidance is felt already during school years, when choosing a profession as well as in the course of labor activities.
The Minister also said that supply and demand often do not coincide in Armenian labor market, which is due to several factors, including low wages. According to the Minister, the policy of wage increase and the introduction of a unified system of wages will help tackle that problem.
