Zhamanak: Nairi Hunanyan to undergo surgery
Nairi Hunanyan, sentenced to life imprisonment over the 1999 shooting in the Armenian parliament, was transferred to Hospital of Convicts penitentiary institution Thursday, Zhamanak reports, citing reliable sources. He suffers from health problems and was likely to be operated on yesterday. He reportedly has paraproctitis - a purulent inflammation of the cellular tissues surrounding the rectum.
There long have been rumors that Hunanyan has serious health problems. Some even say he has mental problems, but there have been no official reports about his health.
