Turkey’s policy not taken into account while moving international organizations’ offices to that country – Alaverdyan
The transfer of the UNDP Regional Center for Europe and the CIS from Bratislava to Istanbul causes concern, ecologist, member of Armenia’s Public Council Karine Danielyan told reporters, adding that under the UN Regulations, the regional offices are located in non-conflict countries.
According to Mrs Danielyan, Turkey is now becoming a regional center for the UN.
In her words, in Istanbul evidence should be presented that Armenian Genocide was perpetrated in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 and that Turkey is blockading Armenia.
First Ombudsperson of Armenia, chairwoman of Against Legal Arbitrariness NGO Larisa Alaverdyan said for her part that Turkey joins various international organizations and takes positions, while its policy and conflicts with other countries are not taken into account.
