Zhoghovurd: Bako Sahakyan to head Armenia’s National Security Service?
The Armenian authorities plan to appoint Nagorno-Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan as head of Armenia’s National Security Service, Zhoghovurd writes. This issue is being discussed behind the scenes. There was a hint at a merger of police and National Security Service and subsequent appointment of Bako Sahakyan as head of the body.
Speaking to Zhoghovurd, Karabakh President’s spokesman David Babayan said he had never heard about it. He added that Bako Sahakyan’s term in office expires in about three years and he does not think that his powers will be terminated ahead of schedule.
