Nairit workers to receive one month’s salary next week
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Nairit plant workers after the cabinet meeting Thursday, the government press service reported.
Minister-Chief of Government Staff David Harutyunyan and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan were present at the meeting.
Nairit workers staged a protest outside the government today, demanding their unpaid salaries. Hovik Abrahamyan and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan went down to talk to the protesters. The Prime Minister asked the protesters to set up a group of 20 people whom he promised to receive after the cabinet meeting.
Hovik Abrahamyan told the plant workers that they will receive one month’s salary next week and promised to examine the situation by late August and to work out a plan to come out of the situation. He also promised to meet with them again to present the results of the studies.
