Slain soldier awarded medal posthumously
On July 12, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree awarding posthumously medal “For Service in Battle” to NKR Defense Army N division's machine gunner, private Movses Gasparyan for bravery shown during the defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic state borders, the press service of the Artsakh Republic President reports.
Movses Gasparyan, 20, was shot dead by Azerbaijani fire Friday in a military unit in the southeastern direction of the Line of Contact of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops.
