Azinform.az: Dozens of Azerbaijani war veterans deny Ibad Huseynov's statements about murdering Monte
School literature for children should be extremely cautious in presenting national heroes and historical figures, as the child grows up, copies these heroes and imitates them, writes Jalil Dzhavanshir on the site of Azinform.az.
According to him, reading the illustrated novel of the joint Turkish-Azerbaijani production titled "Ibad" and written by Turkish author Suat Turgut about Ibad Huseynov, who is considered a national hero in Azerbaijan, the author has experienced frustration from the fact that the recent history is impermissibly distorted.
Turgut presents Ibad Huseynov as a national hero of the Turkic world, because the latter during their first meeting had presented him a book about himself, where he says that he had killed Monte Melkonian. The famous photo of Ibad Huseynov posing on the background of the cut off head was spread through the internet.
However, as Jalili Javanshir writes, there are dozens of Azerbaijani Karabakh war veterans, who deny that Monte Melkonian was killed by Ibad Huseynov. This issue was widely covered in the press.
"On the other hand, there are dozens of fighters, national heroes who have more reason to promote themselves," the author writes, and notes that the history does not tolerate lies and errors and the accounts the eyewitnesses about the recent historical events should be respected.
