Erdogan will continue policy of denial, expert says
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to win the presidential elections, Turkish studies expert Gevorg Petrosyan told reporters on Thursday. According to the expert, Erdogan has a stable electorate and his Justice and Development Party (AKP) has always won in the past 10 years.
“Erdogan brought the policy of denial to a new level and will continue that policy, so we should not expect any progress in the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Pro-Armenian moves are not in Erdogan’s interest,” he said, adding that no serious changes should be expected since whoever is elected president he will pursue the interest of Turkey.
