Mohammad Reisi: Iran opposed to deployment of external forces in region
Iran is in favor of peaceful settlement of any conflict, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Reisi told a press conference Friday.
According to him, his country is opposed to violence and extremism.
“We are against instability in the region since it will pose danger to all regional countries. Iran has repeatedly expressed its willingness to assist the Karabakh negotiation process,” Mr Reisi said, adding that hostilities are unlikely to resume.
As regards deployment of peacekeepers at the Line of Contact, the Ambassador noted that Armenia, Azerbaijan and the OSCE Minsk Group are to decide on the issue.
“Iran opposes to deployment of external forces in the region,” he said, noting that it will threaten regional security.
