OSCE Minsk Group is concerned about losses of life on Armenian-Azerbaijani line of contact
The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are concerned about the losses of life on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border and the line of contact, said the OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair James Warlick in the interview given to the Azerbaijani information agency APA.
“The number of incidents, resulting deaths and injuries is also a setback in our efforts to work with parties to find a lasting peace,” he said.
According to him the U.S. and the Minsk Group Co-Chairs are committed to helping the sides find a peaceful settlement in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Moreover, in his interview given to Azerbaijani information agency Trend Warlick stated that during the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev, held in Vienna in November, it became clear that some progress is possible in the resolution of the conflict.
Answering the question about the possible date of a new meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Warlick said that the Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group hope that both presidents will accept the invitation to a summit in Paris.
“We believe that a continuation of that discussion is an important step in progress towards peace,” he added.
