US calls on all sides of Nagorno Karabakh conflict to take immediate action to reduce tensions and respect cease-fire
The US calls on all sides of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict to take immediate action to reduce tensions and respect the cease-fire, stated the U.S. State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki during the Briefing.
She stressed that there can be no military solution to this conflict.
“Retaliation and further violence will only make it more difficult to bring about a peaceful settlement. We remain committed, as a co-chair of the Minsk Group, to helping all sides reach a lasting settlement to the conflict,” noted Ms. Psaki.
Answering the question whether the U.S. upholds the initiative of Russia on organizing a meeting of president of the two countries – Armenian and Azerbaijan – the Spokesperson stated that the U.S. “has traditionally been supportive of meetings to have a dialogue about these issues.”
