There is no justice while US protects Israel – commentator
Press TV has conducted an interview with Jalal Fairooz, political commentator, London about the Palestinian filing of a war crimes case against Israel at the International Criminal Court.
Press TV: One question asked over and over again is where do the Palestinians have to turn to get justice for the innocent people killed, for the innocent children killed as a result of the Israeli assault on Gaza?
When will we see Israelis held accountable for their crimes committed against the people of Gaza and the people of Palestine?
Fairooz: It seems that there is no justice yet in the world because the international entities are being over-sighted by the United States, actually, not the United Nations.
Even the International Criminal Court, attorneys and the prosecutors are being directed indirectly by some of the United States’ officials. That’s why you can see that the Israelis don’t fear any punishment or any prosecution internationally.
That’s why you can see that they are not only targeting civilians – which of course for decades they have been doing that – but targeting the United Nation’s institutions and buildings.
Three times they have bombarded the UNRWA schools and killed innocent children who had sought refuge there. And this has been happening in front of Mr. Obama, John Kerry and all the world.
That’s why just a few minutes before the ceasefire today they bombarded the northern side of Gaza this morning; that’s why they don’t care that the vast majority of the almost 1,900 who have been killed by these US-backed weapons are children and the elderly and also women.
They do have the full support of the United States and even in this war, which is almost one month old, there have been bills being passed to support Israel, to give them more weapons, more financial support.
Israelis have said this war has cost us around 170 billion dollars and we need some return for what we have spent.
You can see the Israelis are bombing not only civilian targets or Hamas targets, they are bombing the power stations – the main infrastructure.
Imagine that you won’t have electricity in your home; you won’t be able to have refrigeration; even your phone cannot be charged; your children cannot live a normal life at night because there is no light. This is the situation in Gaza.
But of course the Americans don’t care about it, the Europeans are not much caring either because the Zionist lobby is very strong and they are superseding any other instruction.
