UK does not allow escalation of tension around Karabakh – Alaverdyan
Escalation of tension in the Karabakh conflict zone will affect economic interests of UK, Armenia’s first Ombudsperson Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters in Yerevan.
She explained that Azerbaijan, while boasting of its independence, in reality is in semi-colonial dependence on British Petroleum, which plays an important role in UK’s policy and considers Azerbaijan a gas and oil field. Therefore, Mrs Alaverdyan said, UK does not allow Azerbaijan to launch large-scale hostilities in Karabakh so as not to endanger its economic interests.
The former Ombudsperson pointed to the fact that UK expressed concern over the escalation of tension around Nagorno-Karabakh and called on to take immediate action and respect the ceasefire agreement.
