Expert: Massacre of Yazidis in Iraq is manifestation of double standards by West
The mass killing of Yazidis in Iraq is a manifestation of double standards by the West, Turkish studies expert Ruben Melkonyan told reporters on Monday.
“The same forces which planned to commit a massacre in Kessab and committed it in Syria are now perpetrating genocide of Yazidis,” said the expert.
Commenting on Turkey’s future policy towards Armenia with Erdogan as head of state, Melkonyan noted that Turkey will become more aggressive and intolerant, also due to Erdogan’s unbalanced personality. Erdogan said in his statement that he will first visit Azerbaijan, Melkonyan stressed.
We should not expect any progress in Armenian-Turkish normalization, the expert said, adding that on the contrary, we should expect tougher statements and actions.
