Seyran Ohanyan: We will do everything to restrain encroachments by enemy
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan has hailed the performance of Armenian tankmen at the Tank Biathlon 2014 international competition.
“We can only be proud of our soldiers and commanders,” Ohanyan told reporters during the welcome ceremony of Armenian tankmen at Zvartnots Airport of Yerevan.
The Tank Biathlon 2014 international competition was held in Alabino, Russia, on August 4-16. Armenia finished in 2nd place in the competition of teams from Angola, Belarus, Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Kuwait, Mongolia and Serbia. The winner was Russia. Tank crews from China and Kazakhstan took 3rd and 4th places respectively.
“We expected it since the fighting preparedness of our soldiers was at a high level,” the Minister said.
Mr Ohanyan also said that the situation is calm on the border.
“We will do everything to maintain calm on the border and restrain encroachments by the enemy,” he added.
