Armenia will consistently support fraternal Yazidi nation – President’s spokesman
Armenia is deeply concerned over violence against Yazidis in northern Iraq that cost numerous human lives, Armenian President’s spokesman Arman Saghatelyan said in a statement.
“Use of violence against any ethnic and religious minority group, specifically against Iraqi Yazidis, is absolutely unacceptable, and the international community should take immediate measures to stop the violence and provide humanitarian assistance.
“The Armenian President has instructed the Foreign Ministry and heads of diplomatic missions to double their efforts on the international scene.
“Today President Sargsyan and Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan discussed increasing the amount of humanitarian assistance.
“The issue will remain in the focus of Yerevan, and the Republic of Armenia will consistently support fraternal Yazidi nation as much as possible,” the statement says.
