‘Genocide of Yazidis planned by Iraqi, Turkish Presidents’
The 74th genocide is being perpetrated against the Yazidis in Iraq, chairman of the Armenian Union of Yazidis Aziz Tamoyan told reporters on Tuesday.
Tamoyan noted that 1.3 million Yazidis live in the north of Iraq. But now the Yazidis are forced to leave their villages and escape to the mountains. According to him, Islamists are brutally killing women, children and elderly and have already destroyed the Yazidi villages.
They plan to exterminate the ethnic minorities and create Kurdistan, Tamoyan added.
Sheikh Bro Hasanyan said for his part that the Yazidis have become victims of political and territorial ambitions of a few individuals and they are being killed because of their religion. He added that this has been planned by the Presidents of Iraq and Turkey.
