Safaryan: Sale of Vorotan Hydro Cascade will lead to electricity price increase
The head of the Union of Native Producers of Armenia is opposed to the sale of Vorotan Hydro Cascade.
“I do not support the initiative to sell Vorotan Hydro Cascade. It should be state ownership since hydropower plants produce the cheapest electricity,” Vazgen Safaryan told a press conference in Yerevan.
Safaryan also said it would be wrong economically to sell the hydro cascade, “especially as it will lead to an increase in electricity prices.”
“Therefore, we should not sell it, but should construct the second unit of Yerevan TPP,” he stressed.
