Armenia records progress in agriculture, official says
Some progress has been made in the area of agriculture this year despite the damage caused by natural disasters, Armenian Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan told a press conference on Friday.
According to the official, the country recorded AMD 316.1bn gross agricultural output in January-July 2014, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the last year. In January-May 2014, the growth rate made 5.4%.
The improved use of sown areas is among the achievements of this year, the Minister said, adding that sown areas made 332.7 thousand hectares, which is 14.6 thousand hectares more than we had last year.
