Armenia should not miss opportunity to enter Russian market – MP
Armenia should not miss the opportunity to enter the Russian market, member of the Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction Lyova Khachatryan told reporters on Wednesday.
“We plan to double the agricultural exports to Russia this year and secure our place in that market,” he said, stressing that the Agriculture Ministry should provide loans to farmers at low interest rates so that they can develop the economy.
Member of RPA parliamentary faction Lernik Alexanyan said for his part that Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian economic zone will also create vast possibilities for agricultural exports. The farmers have difficulties in selling the agricultural products and today there is a large amount of peaches which the farmers cannot sell because the Armenian market is too small, he added.
Lyova Khachatryan noted that Armenia should take advantage of the sanctions imposed against Russia.
