California Senate’s passage of NKR resolution is major political, legal and moral step – NKR
The California State Senate’s adoption of the resolution on the recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence is a very important political, legal and moral step, say the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Speaking to Panorama.am, David Babayan, a spokesman for Nagorno-Karabakh President, said that it is a significant event for all Armenians and it is also a gift from California to Artsakh on the eve of the Nagorno-Karabakh Independence Day celebrated on September 2.
Mr Babayan said that the adoption of the resolution is a result of Armenia’s and Diaspora’s joint efforts and it bears evidence to the fact that the process of Nagorno-Karabakh’s international recognition continues at a swift pace.
We can say that a major country has recognized Karabakh’s independence, with California being a major U.S. state in terms of population and economy, the spokesman said.
He stressed that the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence proves that Artsakh is an established democratic state.
