Karen Petrosyan’s body should be repatriated without preconditions – Arakelyan
There is no progress regarding the repatriation of Armenian captive Karen Petrosyan’s body, Rima Arakelyan, chairwoman of the Council of the Relatives of Missing Freedom Fighters NGO, member of the Commission on Captives, Hostages and Missing Persons, told a press conference on Wednesday.
“His body should be repatriated without preconditions,” Mrs Arakelyan stressed.
She hailed the statements by international organizations strongly condemning the death of Karen Petrosyan and demanding an independent medical inquiry. “This can be a restraining factor,” Arakelyan said.
She also said that there is no news about 53-year-old Armenian citizen Sargis Ananyan who crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on August 26 and added that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is dealing with the issue.
