Haykakan Zhamanak: Carrefour to take over Yerevan City supermarkets
Citing reliable sources, Haykakan Zhamanak writes that the talks between the French Carrefour hypermarket chain and Yerevan City supermarket chain have been in fact completed, with final agreements reached.
“Under the agreement, the 12 Yerevan City supermarkets will be transferred to Carrefour no later than by early 2015, so there will be no more Yerevan City supermarkets in Yerevan. Carrefour will lease the areas of Yerevan City supermarkets and will implement the furnishing according to its own standards. Given the fact that Carrefour will start operating in Yerevan Mall in a couple of weeks, it can be said that there will be a radical change in the retail trade and imports of consumer goods in Armenia,” writes the newspaper.
