Vigen Sargsyan: Armenian government supports ‘Open Skies’ policy
As a result of the implementation of the ‘Open Skies’ policy initiated by the Armenian President, Armenia recorded approximately 35 percent growth in the number of tourists in August of this year compared with the same period of last year, head of the Armenian Presidential Administration Vigen Sargsyan told a press conference on Wednesday.
“This is a good result by international standards. We are convinced that it will be continuous,” the official noted.
Mr Sargsyan said that the ‘Open Skies’ policy will be implemented consistently. According to him, all the air companies which are interested in working in Armenia will meet full support from the Armenian government.
Vigen Sargsyan also said that as of June, tourists from Italy made the largest part in the total number of tourists that arrived in Armenia.
