Armenian Economy Minister receives Czech delegation
On the sidelines of the first session of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation on September 11, Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian received Czech delegation led by Czech Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Czech Republic Vladimir Bärtl, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
Among the delegation members were Petr Mikyska, Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Armenia; Jiri Masata, Head of the Department of CIS countries, Western Balkans and other countries, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Nikola Hruskova, Secretary of the Committee, Department of CIS countries, Western Balkans and other countries, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Petr Vavra, Director of the Department of Bilateral Economic Relations and Export Promotion, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was also attended by Garegin Melkonyan, Armenian Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia; Tigran Seyranyan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Czech Republic; Aleksandr Avetisyan, Head of International Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Economy; Armen Yeganyan, Head of Industry Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy.
Welcoming the first session of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian stressed the importance of deepening Armenian-Czech cooperation in trade and economic development and expressed hope that the results of the session will allow Armenian-Czech trade relations to be moved to a new stage.
During the meeting, the sides summed up the results of the first session of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Armenian-Czech business forum held on September 11.
Among other issues, the importance of ensuring continuous operations of the Czech Airlines in Armenia, the resumption of negotiations from Czech side on the draft agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Czech Republic on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, as well as energy, information technology, transport, agriculture and other areas of cooperation and related issues were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed willingness to fulfill the commitments set out in the Protocol signed at the first session of the Armenian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
