Guminsky: Armenia's accession will be announced in Minsk
Belarus is doing everything so that the draft agreement on Armenia's accession to Eurasian Union could be ratified in Minsk on October 10, Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives of Belarusian National Assembly Viktor Guminsky told Armenian News-NEWS.am and RFE/RL correspondents.
It is supposed that Armenia's joining Eurasian Union will be announced in Minsk, he added.
“The draft agreement is undergoing legal procedures in Belarus, and in the near future will be submitted to the Council of Ministers that would introduce the bill for ratification of the parliament,” he said.
Referring to the timing of ratifying the treaty, the Deputy Speaker stressed that the National Assembly of Belarus set a goal and does everything so that it could be submitted by the beginning of the session that will open on October 2.
“We have always supported the integration process: Armenia is a member of the CSTO and the CIS, and we do support being together in this union,” he emphasized.
As to contradictions between Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan in connection with Armenia's accession, Guminsky said: “There are certain points that are being worked out in the Eurasian Economic Commission, and this process goes forward. But I was not involved. I'm sure that acceptable option will be found to remove all obstacles.”
